I would like to think I am doing something really stupid, and one of you guy’s to say “press this or that and it should be OK”
But I have a feeling that it’s not that easy.
When I bring up the media fx and select lets say “clouds” (it really dosn’t matter what)I then apply a few keyframes along the timeline, when I go to change a parameter for each of them you cannot see the result on the preview screen. I drag the cursor along and you can see the relevant sliders going up and down but no way of seeing what it looks like……the only way is to actually play it on the main timeline which is quite frustrating.
I have Vegas movie studio and I have even downloaded Vegas pro 8 which is exatley the same, is this just a quirk of the s/ware or am I doing something wrong.
    All replies greatfully recieved
ps.. sync cursor is greyed out and cannot be changed!

Generated media has no associated time with it, therefore there is nothing to sync.
Same answer for why you don’t see the cursor position updating on the timeline when you move it in the Gen Media keyframe window.
I wish it were different, but after years of working with the software…Sort of have developed workarounds.

Too late to your rescue, but the trick is to have a separate track for that file, use the media file to drag on to a new track, apply media fx and watch in preview, then the media has been fx’ed. But when playing in the preview, it will not show it, only in rendering.

Have to see if it has been fixed in Sony Vegas 9.

Hope this helps. I had to rack my brains for an hour to figure this out.
