If you’ve installed the Prorez codec and QT can’t open the files either, then something didn’t go right with the codec install.

Question 1 seems like you’ve got a keyframe at the end or somewhere downstream if it’s a slow movement on what should be a static trak.
Question 2; Set up the screen the way you want and save it as a layout in the View menu.

September 30, 2010 at 7:40 am in reply to: Applying Plugins or transitions to Basic Text in VegasThere is a training DVD from VASST on the PTT…it is definitely different. Well written as a software piece, but it doesn’t fit into the Vegas workflow with any degree of intuitive use.
The 3D trrack tools are useful, as are the various effects that can be dropped on the titles. But…extruding titles (what I think you’re alluding to ala Matrox) is not possible.
Use transitions on the incoming and outgoing portions of the titles from the transition tool vs the PTT tool; you should be pleased.
Start with the templates….go from there.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Can you rename the file, try to re-open, and render a small bit of it?
See if that gets you anywhere?Douglas Spotted Eagle

Heat, antivirus, bad file, HDD that is over filled, lacking buffer space, bad RAM, new codec load, bad third party reader…these can all cause the symptoms you’re describing.
How long is the project? Can you open Vegas without opening the project? Is your drive filled so there is no temp space?
Codecs in the project?
Large still images in the project?Douglas Spotted Eagle

The 700Kpbs is what’s killing you. Bump it to 10Mpbs. Let YouTube knock it down when they convert to Flash. It’ll cost you more in upload time but give you significantly greater quality.

You MUST render to MPEG 2 to play the content on a DVD.
Render settings should match the media in this case.
Render to NTSC DVD Widescreen 720 x 480 at a bitrate between 6.5 and 8.5Mbps.
You’ll need to render audio separately as an AC3 file or PCM file.
There is a free tool from VASST that does this for you, called DVD Prep.Douglas Spotted Eagle
