Hi, have searched threads but can’t find reference to this issue.

    Sony Vegas Pro 9
    HDV 1080/501 template
    Canon HV 30

Lately when I run capture, everyone of my clips includes a slit second of the following clip at the very end. Consequently I have to trim the last split second off every clip when it goes on the timeline.

What in the world am I doing wrong? Is there a setting – either camera or Vegas – that I’ve got wrong? Thanks for any guidance.

“Lately?” It used to capture 50i HD correctly?

Well, this is my first big HD project. I’ve done bits and pieces before with the same settings but this is the first time I’ve noticed this problem.

Each clip’s pick up from the following clip is very small but the same size – a ‘nano second’ – for each clip irrespective of the length (size) of the clip. However small, it’s still enought to be seen as a ‘flicker’ at the end of each clip when run on the timeline.

    Hope this makes some sense.

This has been a long running issue with Vegas.
Give https://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm a try and see if it solves your problem.

    you’re seeing one frame added.
As Mike mentioned, this is a consistent problem. The tape capture aspect of Vegas hasn’t been updated for many years, (and never will be).

There are free capture apps that should fix the problem.

Thanks for the info. Not what I expected to hear but at least now I know. Pretty poor of Sony not to fix the problem without having to apply work-arounds, given the regular version upgrades. Thanks again.
