  • If it’s just the background, it’ll fade to black when you insert an Event Fade at the corner. That’s all thats necessary.
Keep in mind that you don’t need to use Parent Compositing modes for simple keying; just putting the key on the upper track does it. Now…if you’re keying or creating other media beneath the plate/background image, then you might be using compositing modes.

  • If you don’t have Noise Reduction plugin for Vegas (comes with Sound Forge) then you’re going about it the right way.
Cut all lows below 100 Hz and that’ll help a lot

    I’m embarrassed. :-/
    I read 4fx as 4K.

Re-check keyframes if you’re seeing differences between the Media FX vs event FX.
Which FX are you using? One of them may be the culprit. If you’re using the Convolution Kernel or Sharpening, you might also be seeing an issue there.

They’re not going to be “up to the quality of what’s seen on the timeline” because what you’re seeing on the timeline isn’t 4K footage. Ergo; you’re doing an upsample but not viewing it at the upsampled resolution.
A-you’re using a 1080 source trying to uprez to 4k
B-You don’t have a means of viewing 4K, so you’re merely seeing 1080 at its best.
C-There is no way to deliver 4K in a portable codec; it’s not a deliverable without complications and no one can view it anyway.

If you were shooting timelapses with your 550 where you had 5K source files…that would be a slightly different animal.

Render to 1080 30p to best match your source files.

The camtasia codec isn’t gonna help you save space/download over mp4, and it will require anyone playing it back to have that codec whereas the mp4 container you’re using from Vegas will play on any machine that has QT installed.

You can use mp4 at lower bitrates, frame sizes.
If its just fun and not critical, upload vid at 320 at 1.5Mbps

  • Hi Mynor,
You at the Universidad de Francisco de Meroquin?

You sure you’re not running an antivirus on the new machines?
What about network cards sharing a bus/resource?

You can move the files from the folder they’re in and tell Vegas to point to the replacement mpg files.

Where in the US are you?
Chances are very good there is a service bureau near you, or a rental house you can access.

  • you need to have the Trimmer selected to ADD (A)
Keystrokes for that function are I (in) O (out) A (add)

You won’t see a waveform when viewing from Explorer. Only when you are in Trimmer or Timeline.
