Ditto. Just quickly tossed 30 tracks of DV up, all in 3D mode and various mask modes to see if this caused a crash. No problem here.
As John mentioned, what’s the source content? how fast is your disk throughput?
    RAM? Other apps running? Antivirus?

I’m with Charles on this one. I frequently use arrows that came with Windows and/or arrows that come with DVD Architect, but there are LOTS of arrows to be found. We often use clipart.com

You can easily make straight lines in Vegas with the mask tool, or you can use other tools to generate straight lines in Vegas, or you can draw them in say…photoshop or similar, save as a transparent PNG file…and import to Vegas

Various versions of the WMP won’t accept the redirect in the stream. You’re using a command marker set to URL, and that’s the only option to embed a URL in the stream from within Vegas that I’m aware of.

  • 64 bit has been publically announced, so the engineers are fairly free to speak about it. Nothing has been announced with regard to resolution upgrades/increases, so it’s currently covered under NDA. If you’re on the beta team, you’ll know what’s going on but can’t post about it. If you’re not on the beta team…enjoy the freedom. 🙂

Sounds like you’re doing a Save As, and including media with project. Stop doing that, and your project will only reference original media.

The FREE DVD Prep tool from VASST will set the correct rendering parameters from within Vegas *every* time, and includes the AC3 file to the same folder, so…it becomes a one-button render, with everything correctly placed.

you have to use the EX1 clip browser to re-wrap the MP4 file to an mxf file. It’s very fast, and can be done at the same time as import.

The batch renderer in Ultimate S offers project-based rendering (based on multiple veg files) It also properly stores nested veg projects.

  • Tough question. Speed of use; Vegas-hands down with change back.
Featureset? Premiere has a slight edge.
    Suite integration; Premiere, hands-down
Speed of render, system resource use;Vegas.
    Formats accepted and mixed;Vegas
    Sexy wow factor; Premiere
Media Management; Vegas *can* win this one, but Premiere has a more user-friendly manager, IMO. But…Vegas is much faster at locating/assembling shots.
Learning curve; debatable, but Vegas wins this one too, IMO.
Output quality on both is the same. It’s digital. Vegas has a no-recompress for HDV and XDCAM, so it’s very fast, but it’s the same quality coming out as what goes in.
