    Set dynamic ram to 0.
    Prerender that section.
It’ll probably go away. This appears to be a codec issue.

FWIW, I watched this thinking you’d shot it with HDSLR. Might be a good idea to render out problem areas vs the longer view of a videogame (which suggests you used Camtasia or similar, so it’s already a challenged codec, thus suggesting a buffer problem).

Right click and see if “adjust size/quality for optimal playback” is checked or not. Clear it, save, re-open project.

  • I’ve had this same thing occur several times, so the answer has been (until recently) to drop an empty marker using Spacebar.

The VASST Caption Assistant tool doesn’t do this. JR can probably explain why it’s a problem with the built-in tools.

June 2, 2011 at 2:18 am in reply to: DVD burning off Vegas timeline

    Larry,
I opened an HD project, 80 mins in length.
Tools | Burn DVD | DVD.

It properly shows a DVD 5 length and burns correctly.

so, I deleted some portions, and while it shows the DVD size as still being a DVD 5, it does burn those portions.
Selection length doesn’t play a role. Do you have something far down on your timeline/>?

VEgas will deinterlace the i footage just fine. It will also interlace the P footage properly.
If your main cam is interlaced, I’d set up a 60i timeline and let the p be interlaced.
    You’re using a cam that is 1280 x 720p60? or 1080p60?

If your primary footage is p60, then I’d use a p60 timeline and let Vegas de-interlace, and use the appropriate deinterlacer for the type of footage you’re shooting (active vs static)

you can render as an MPEG 2 with included audio if you choose that option from the render dialog.
    or…
you can render as an mpeg 4/mp4 for future safekeeping as well.

  • looks as though your source is HDV 1280 x 720…
Render to 10Mbps 1280 x720 mp4 if your content is high motion. Render to 6Mbps if it’s low motion.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pP043Eg0zs

    lots of color/motion/movement…

Youtube will take wmv, but wmv hoses the colors in the conversion.

Click the speaker icons in the corners for that channel, and leave only the center icon highlighted/active.
