You can import your self-contained movie back in to FCP and make your audio adjustments right in the timeline with audio keyframes. Then export your modified movie again as another self-contained. Did this answer your question, or am I missing something else you wanted to do?
If you have Soundtrack Pro you could also adjust your audio tracks there as well.

It all depends on what you’re shooting and how fast your subject movement is. Increasing shutter speed will make your image sharper and you may not want the look of that. So in that case, it would be better to use the ND filter to drop the overall available light instead.
Read Jeff Carpenter’s in-depth reply to another poster’s question about shutter speed in the Sony forum at the link below. His explanation will apply to any digtal video camera regardless of make or model, PAL or NTSSC.

I only have experience using the Sony wide angle adapter, part #VCL-HG0758. I use it on the PD170 all the time but I also use it on the GL2 because it’s the same filter thread size. Overall, I can say that I’m very happy with the performance of the lens although there is some distortion with vertical and horizontal lines, but it’s not distracting. The Sony lens is a .7x, which means it’s a totally zoom through piece without loss of focus, also giving you a 30% wider field of view. For the price, this lens is hard to beat.
I’m sure the Century Optics adapter is a better lens, without the above described distortion, but it is a substantial increase in price.

Set field dominance to “lower”.
The best codec for capturing will be the the same one as the video clip e.g. if the clip was recorded in DV NTSC then that should be your capture/sequence setting. If you’re importing a QT movie and you’re not sure of the format, open your clip in QT, choose the ‘show movie info’ command from the Window menu. Beside ‘format’ you’ll find all the info for the clip’s video and audio

You could also get the zoom in/out effect you want by doing it in post with an NLE.
