    Hi,

I have a question about using shutter mode with video as i’m new to that.

When does one use shutter mode other then 1/25 or is it not done and what is the impact on the video?
I did’nt do any tryouts yet, but i just wanted some feedback in using it or not? fe is it beter to use the ndfilter or use the shutter mode…or is the image totaly different?
is there a difference in using the shutter in interlaced or progressive mode (i always use progressive)

    thx

It all depends on what you’re shooting and how fast your subject movement is. Increasing shutter speed will make your image sharper and you may not want the look of that. So in that case, it would be better to use the ND filter to drop the overall available light instead.

Read Jeff Carpenter’s in-depth reply to another poster’s question about shutter speed in the Sony forum at the link below. His explanation will apply to any digtal video camera regardless of make or model, PAL or NTSSC.
