if you want Vegas to break up the hour clip into smaller clips based on when you hit record/stop on camera –

in the Vegas capture utility – go to options – preference then hit the capture tab and check the box ENABLE DV SCENE DETECTION

    it works with my workflow.
i tend to work in 12-18min segments. now with V6 i can take the 4-8 segments ( veg files) and drop them in TL to see how the whole project is moving/flowing.
i capture whole 60min clips. use regions/markers in trimmer to identifly sections or will create subclips. current project media is on a terabyte 1394 drive.
don’t know about premiere but seems you have to have/create some type of organization on projects to certain degree…

  • movie/HD lens are better made (mechanical parts) as the movie/film/video business puts much more wera/tear on them..
plus the # of units sold/made = there are many more still lens sold then movie/HD/video lens = volume = less $$

  • 1. Do you want removable lenses on this camera?

NO!! panasonic please do not put a removable lens on this camera.

    2. Would you pay more?
NO !! if you do put a removable lens on it i will NOT buy it..

    3. How much more would you be willing to pay?

    zero … i’ll pay 6K or 10K w/2P2 cards .. you put a removable lens = i’ll buy different camera …

i want a hand size camera .. the JVC/XL are too big for my use..

perhaps a removable lens calls for a different model ?

try starting over .. use system restore and go back to day before you installed .net/DirectX9c/V6 …

then install them one at a time .. after each install check to see if AE is working …
use internet explorer – tools – windows update so you install/restart in the order microsoft list them … V6 will be last

you could render a 2 sec black clip … at the end of the movie clip use the “end action ” to lead it to the 2 sec black clip ..that way only the 2 sec black will need to be rendered
