Val, Sorenson Squeeze just released an update – 4.1 which updates the MPEG engine – adding 2 pass VBR. Quality has improved. Canopus Mastering quality is still probably better.

You need to go to your Preference. It is there you dictate the format for conversion. You can select AIFF, AAC, MP3, etc.

Convert them in iTunes to AIFF 48/16 bit. That will import just fine. ACC files are a) copy protected and b) I don’t think Avid supports ACC anyway.

Walter you need to do it with RS422. I know about the firewire thing but you do know that any tape edits via firewire is just a well timed crash record?
Firewire does not support true edit commands like assemble and insert edit.

If you can make it via RS422 then yes it seems I may have made a mistake. But if it is only firewire, then it is no different than any other firwire decks.

Walter D5 is a compressed format for HD and uncompress for SD.

I was refering to the one in the Color Correction tool and not the one access thru the Record Tool. The difference between the two is HUGE. Like I said, the only downside is it does not evaluate during playback [the Record Tool one does].

Also, unless I am mistaken there is no line selector for the CC scopes. There is for the Record/Input Tool.
