DVC Pro HD runs at 60 frames per second even at 24p – does it not? So your data rate would be the same per frame if you project is 23.976 or 29.97? Right?

Calculating the data rate and comparing the quality to other codecs – I have to agree. Just like DV p[but with better chroma sampling] – DVC Pro HD is far from offline and not online either.

Call your reseller or Avid and ask them to send you the lost of ‘What’s New’
It is a section in the manual.

[Sean ONeil] “- A window that displays detailed timecode info, just like every single other pro NLE has. Media 100 has the best one. It has a list that can show source TC for specific tracks as well as the duration from in point to out point for specific tracks. Also, Premiere’s TC info windows shows the timecode of the cursor’s position, which is nice. FCP’s can only do source TC and it has to be on the overlay, which is kind of lame. “

    Just like Avid’s 🙂
This is by far the best TC Window – any track, I/O, absolute TC, current, AUX TC, master TC in varying formats [29.97, 60p, 24, ,etc], resizeable, moveable, etc.

[Fred Miller] “I’m sick of explaining to new users about this silly bug that makes a professional application come off as extremely unprofessional.”

I like looking at my desktop right after pressing thos butons 😉

[mark Raudonis] “I work for Bunim-Murray productions. We’re the folks that bring you MTV’s “The Real World”, “Road Rules, “The Simple Life” for FOX, “Starting Over for NBC”, and much more. “

    My fault.

Nevertheless, your company is probably in a rare situation to be able to do what you did.

I don’t disagree on the factors that determines salary/wage I just think training is not as common as I would like to believe.

Mark will all due respect you work for THE most successful reality TV production company. You can afford to do what you did. Don’t you have Media Composers on a Unity [or is that Unities?] for Survivor, Contender and Apprentice?

I seriously doubt that rest of the industry can do or willing to do what you did- at least in my experience.

Actually it is probably worse for freelance in my experience. When you are hired for 8 or 12 weeks that is what you are hired and budgeted for. There is week for refresher or training. At least with permanent staff, if you are replacing another person they may take you in because of your reel and as a junior editor until you get your legs unnder you.
