I don’t think they’ll use all of Motion VFX products, at least not initially. They’ll likely be added gradually, so they can tell new customers they are adding new functions.

Time will tell how other manufacturers will react and what changes they will make to their products.

There are many options out there when you right-click an external drive, as there are when you right-click any folder or file. Showing you many options you can choose.

At least it doesn’t automatically start erasing your disk, opening a new window. I prefer to use ”Command-E” to eject my drives, much safer.

If your videos are recorded in HDR, you can edit them in HDR, but if you have SDR footage, I don’t see the point of converting them to HDR or working in HDR with SDR footage.

Can you give more info on your intent?

In my opinion, Apple’s acquisition of Motion VFX can be seen as a continuation of the policy it began implementing with Creator Studio. With this acquisition, Apple has once again demonstrated its long-term goal of targeting not only pro users but also, as it has long done, social media-focused users. By offering subscription-based planning and ready-to-use effects within FCP without the need to purchase extra plugins, it is essentially targeting a competitor like Capcut and aims to expand the FCP ecosystem and, consequently, increase Mac sales to a wider audience.

  • Hi,

If you search for OpenCore Legacy Patcher and have a little bit of knowledge of installing systems, you can use a newer macOS version and use FCPX.

This doesn’t allow you to go to the latest version and all the features, but you can use most of the features of FCP. Don’t go to the latest version of macOS. It may break your system. It will help you to last a little more with your current system.

I am on the latest versions of FCP and Mac Os on different machines, including M1, M2, M3 Mac Studio, and MacBook Pros M2-M4, no problem at all.

You add keywords to a project. That is how it works. If you are struggling to find the project in browser in complex libraries, you can use ”Reveal Project in Browser” command to easily find it on timeline.

Not directly, though you can find stock templates from stock sites and use one of those to create that kind of slideshow.

This is a new branding operation.

They want to streamline the naming similarity between all their brands. No other software has Pro, like Photoshop, After Effects, etc.

They added Pro to Creative Cloud. Now it is Creative Cloud Pro. It became Pro with AI support.

  • Thanks, checking it now, and I will try to use it as soon as I have time.
