    Hi,

Just to ensure that are you dragging from where it reads Properties or are you dragging from the bar at the top? You can see the sample video. And what happens when you select All Panels from the window menu?

    Great thanks.

That’s because you have to select your Library first and then go to the menu and choose to delete generated library files, not the clip files. Choosing a library will give you these options to delete renders and transcoded files.

    Hi,

Like Kendall showed you can place it anywhere you want and save it to use next time.

Just go to the Menu Bar and open the Window > Workspaces, you will see many options to make your life easier over there.

    Hi,

You need to do one thing —actually two 🙂 Find out what caused the size and delete it.

To do this right-click or control-click on your library and choose Show Package Contents. This way your library will open as a folder in your hard drive. Choose to show as a list and click the Size column so you can see everything from big to small. It’s probably render files or if you have transcoded media like optimized and proxy, it could be that. To save space, you can freely delete the Render Files folder And Transcoded Media folders. Also, there is an Original Media folder. Be careful about that, if you don’t have a copy of those files inside the Original Media folder somewhere else on your hard drive, don’t delete them.

    Hi,

Assuming you don’t have Compressor installed, you can export it by changing export options in the export window. Normally when you choose File > Share > Export File you come up with Format Video Audio and Source Apple Prores 422. You can change here for example: Video Audio to Computer and Video Codec to H264 faster. You can also lower the resolution if you want.

Yes, new iPhones and some other phone models shoot in HDR, which gives you a better colour management option. If all of your footage is HDR, it is better to make the sequence HDR. If you are mixing SDR and HDR, you can stick with SDR and still use your HDR footage. There is always a way. When you click somewhere empty on the timeline, choose Command J and you will see sequence settings on the far right where you see the inspector. You can make changes if you need to.

    Hi there,

Where are you planning to publish your video, if it is YouTube or planning to watch it on TV or computer screen you should use a horizontal format like 1920×1080 or if you want a higher quality like 4 k you can make it 3840×2160. If you are going to edit for social media, you should pick a vertical format like 720×1280 or 1080×1920. If you are in the USA you can choose 30 fps or 25 in Europe.

Well, it is a piece of great advice to have a test in a theater. During the Betacam era, I took my portable VTR for a private screening and made all the sound adjustments on the theatre’s sound mixer with the staff. And left for lunch and guess what, when I came back the guy I worked has left and someone new came and broke all the setup and we had almost no time to set up again and we had to restart the film twice when the audience was in there.

    Hi,

I don’t think there is an easy way to cut it into 30-second chunks, but you can make a sequence and cut the first 30 seconds. Then, you can duplicate this sequence, add the next 30 seconds, and duplicate it repeatedly. Ultimately, you can select all the sequences in the bin and batch export them at once.

    Hi,

As far as I know, there is no way to do quality control for DCP at home. You can watch the export in the best condition you create to ensure everything is correct, but for DCP QC, the only place you can do the QC is a real movie theater. As you said, before making a DCP, it is better to watch the export you will deliver to DCP makers to ensure the copy you are delivering is correct. But of course, before you watch the export, you have to be sure everything is correct like color values and audio inside the editing software.
