  • New Properties panel tab not showing up

My version of Premiere 25 looks like 24. I do not see the tab that opens the Properties panel. To open the panel, I have to go to the Window menu and select Properties. Then it opens as a floating window. How do I get the layout that I am seeing in the online demos?

This might fix your problem. If you ever revert to default lay out you might have to put it back.

    Hi,

Like Kendall showed you can place it anywhere you want and save it to use next time.

Just go to the Menu Bar and open the Window > Workspaces, you will see many options to make your life easier over there.

Thank you both, but the panel is not docking for me. It just hovers wherever I take it. It never docks, and it appears to the be the only panel in the Windows list that does that. When I select another panel like Text or Lumetri Scopes, the tab automatically appears in the Source Window with the other tabs. Also, any window I check off in the Windows menu stays checked, except for Properties. I have to keep checking it every time I want to open it and, as I said, it just hovers. I can’t dock it anywhere.

    Hi,

Just to ensure that are you dragging from where it reads Properties or are you dragging from the bar at the top? You can see the sample video. And what happens when you select All Panels from the window menu?

Thank you, Devrim. Yes, I was dragging from the bar and not from the name. Didn’t catch that subtlety before. Thank you for making that clear. It is working now.

It’s great to hear it is solved. It is very normal that sometimes people can have difficulty seeing what is in front of them due to the intensity of work or even the tiredness of the day.
