    Hi,

Is there a way to convert a Final Cut Pro XML into a readable file that you can open in Microsoft Excel for example? As a documentary editor I get asked all the time from production managers for timecode information on music tracks or archive clips. In Avid you can export an edl with this info. The equivalent in FCP would be really useful for me.

In the past I’ve used EDL-X to convert an XML into an edl and then into a text document but it doesn’t work very well and is really clunky.

Please can anyone help with this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

You can always try text edit softwares but it will always be a mystery to understand what is in there.

Unfortunately the easiset way to this is not free. You can try Producer’s Best Friend from Intelliegent Assistance, it is on Mac App Store for 99,99 USD.
