If you’ve got the 6.5 Pro version, through some ZAXWERKS 3d Invig on the text, (if you’ve got CorelDraw of Illustrator to create vector graphs), will give more dimension to the comp perhaps? With that you can create the whole look of the text anyway, so no more adjustment layer.
Plus a hint of a light in the 3D comp inside the box could also add to realism?
A sine wave type movement should give you a better floating effect? I think, haven’t tried it, just a thought.
Hope I’m not talking to much bullocks hie hie, makes sense to me though!

January 15, 2006 at 8:42 am in reply to: HELP: I have put in MORE RAM and it is RENDERING SLOWER !!!Do you have any form of RAID in your machine?
Having one slow HDD can slow down renders to since the data needs to be saved to disk, and the disk can only keep up for so long.
I find I get better results even with just 2 SATA drives in RAID config.
Maybe I’m smoking my socks, but things do go a bit better !???

Well I don’t have it yet, but if you are after “look” type plug-ins, then 55mm is a must (https://www.digitalfilmtools.com/55mm/). an amazing set of plug ins.
Um, do you have Zaxwerks 3D Invigarator? (https://www.zaxwerks.com), this is cool for promo spots.
If you wanna create awesome water effects Psunami is the one for the job (https://www.digitalanarchy.com/psunami/psunami_main.html).
Get the other trapcode plug ins!
Check out https://www.walkereffects.com
What AE do you have?

Maybe this helps, found it on there website, looks like a bit of planning you can manage to create te illusion of objects in the water? let me know if this helps?
Otherwise if you’ve got a $1495 lying around, look at :
https://www.areteis.com/products/renderworld/overview.htm
FROM THERE WEBSITE:
Psunami creates a truly 3D water surface and environment. It creates a 3D mesh that is then displaced in true 3D. This allows for very complex waves and interaction with the camera. The camera can be attached to Psunami’s water surface or go into the wave troughs.
Psunami also allows you to manipulate the 3D mesh by using displacement maps to create wakes, ripples, whirlpools, and other distortions of the water surface. Again, this happens in true 3D

It’s not specifically written for Version 9, but check out
https://www.cmpbooks.com/product/1170
There is some downloads for tutorial file updates for 9, so it’s gotta be compatible?
