I believe that has to be done from the web side. there is a pick in cleaner for both mac and pc but i’ve found no other encoder that has this feature.

dont forget the old faithful MTR Mac the Ripper.. It will extract the elementary mp2 and ac3 files from the source no matter how much css or bad blocks they throw in the disk..

You are probably going to have to invest in another program. I’m sure episode will do this but does episode do hd..? I use Rhozet which is a pc program, you can pretty much make anything m2t’s to flash etc, sound like you need a transport stream because of the pid but there is also a need for a audio program id..

DR because of the hardware encoder is a better solution than squeeze. I have both, plus a bunch more.. but if you do not need a capture box and just a render box i’d suggest Rhozet. Render farm’s are the way to go, plus Rhozet will actually address your issues, they are a good company.. and i dont work for them..

hmm. rgb is different than y r-y b-y component.. are you able to get the composite output to work from the decklink to the monitor? I say lets start simple and see what works. I have a few sony crt’s that have bad component inputs, luckily they have two…

my dual pcix 2.7 is more stable than the apple duo core 2.3 pcie box.. i just think there was a reason apple switch core’s to intel quickly there after..

Animation handles all bit depths and its full rgb and at millions plus you got your alpha. And i believe Blackmagic just uses Apples 10 bit codec, because you can load AJA codecs and still decode BM files. You can’t get the alpha on hdcamsr as far as i can tell, although there is a system setting for an alpha color on the hdcamsr but i’ve found no info on this from talking to many engineers here in hollywood. If any one knows please I would love to be wrong on this one..!! so id expect the alpha would evaporate when going to tape for color correction. you can easily make a travel matte in AE by “Set Channels” R->Alpha, G->Alpha, B->Alpha .. you basically set all rgb to alpha. thats it..

if there is no export you can export a uncompressed qt then from qt export an avi “none codec”. there are issues exporting large avi out of qt (over2 or 4 gig’s) cant remember, but the file just wont export.? and there are really no good codecs for avi on mac except “none”..

i know its irritating….

the aja is Firewire 800 and does prorez only, which is fairly processor intensive, your g4 may not be fast enough even if it had the FW800 ports.

My question would be can QT decode an AVI with a BM Codec.? In my experience QT will not make AVI’s in excess of 2 or 4 gig(cant remember), so i would wonder if it would decode..
