Creating HD MPEGs
Hello,
I’ve been asked to create HD MPEGs based on the following dimensions:
Pixel Dimensions: 1920 x 1080
Frame Rate: 25fps
Bitrate: 36 mbit/s CBR
Profile: Main
Level: High
VBV Buffer Size: 488
Closed GOPs
N Value (Number of Frames in GOP): 15
M Value (Number of Frames Between Anchor Frames): 3
Sequence Header Interval: Each GOP
Video Encode PID: 16If you look at the settings, Compressor (as far as I know) cannot achieve this. For example, If I choose the MPEG-2 or the HD MPEG presets and then try to adjust these (after duplication), I cannot change the bitrate settings from VBR to CBR as an example.
Would be grateful if another encoding application can be recommended for the apple mac (does Pixel Tools have a mac version of their MPEG encoding software for example?).

Somehow I could do this…I don’t recall what I did. I think it depends on which preset you start with, duplicate it and then adjust the settings. I had to make a similar MPEG and at first I could not change the VBR setting…..later I tried again and I could select CBR no problem.
Again it depends on which preset you start with (can’t recall) and how you change the settings.
I loathe compressor.

You are probably going to have to invest in another program. I’m sure episode will do this but does episode do hd..? I use Rhozet which is a pc program, you can pretty much make anything m2t’s to flash etc, sound like you need a transport stream because of the pid but there is also a need for a audio program id..
