Use the “firewire basic” option instead of “firewire” under capture settings.

Do you have input & output connected at the same time? Try removing one to eliminate feedback.

Also for monitoring output do you have betacam selected instead of the other 2 options under a/v settings>video playback.

Our DVCPro deck outputs pink if you’re in something other than betacam.

Try deleting the second clip out of the editing timeline.
Go back to the bin where you imported it.
Check its properties. Put a check next to anamorphic.
Then drag it into the timeline.
If you just try to change the anamorphic property while it’s
still in the original timeline you will not see a change.

    Hope this helps.

On a 20-21?” apple flat screen no scopes.
On a 30″ apple flat screen scopes show up.

  • Why not just set device control to “non-controllable” in the capture window, that way you generate new TC on capture.

  • Have you made sure your viewer and canvas windows are set to “fit to window”?
If not this can cause dropped frames.

I have not upgraded to fcp5. But I have heard of people getting green flashes with other NLEs (Accom Affinity). As I recall it was because of problems/conflicts with their storage arrays.

You may want to check and see if you have all the latest drivers/firmware on your storage array/mac.

You might also search non COW discussion forums (Affinity) on the matter.
