I have this same deck – and usually people post deck control issues with panasonic gear. If you’re sure your cables are correct then it sounds like your component out on the DVCPRO deck could have issues. Maybe it’s time for a check up? Does the ‘S-video’ and ‘Composite out’ look ok?

I’ve had this issue coming out of Final Cut Pro when I have RGB selected instead of YPbPr so maybe there is a setting inside of your deck that switches from these settings.

If your Beta VTR looks good, but your Panasonic VTR does not, you probably have an encoder board mis-alignment with your Panasonic VTR. If you have a component monitor, plug the Panasonic Y Pb Pr directly into the YRB inputs of your Component TV. Does it look pink ? ? If it does, you have a problem with your VTR, and it needs a professional alignment. Sony VTR’s can suffer the same problem.

Do you have input & output connected at the same time? Try removing one to eliminate feedback.

Also for monitoring output do you have betacam selected instead of the other 2 options under a/v settings>video playback.

Our DVCPro deck outputs pink if you’re in something other than betacam.

Ok, that what I lately try..

DVCpro concect directly to a monitor true Y-Cb-Cr and composite outputs looks ok,

DVCpro connected to IO true composite, with uncompress 8 and 10 bits looks ok

BetaSP connected to IO true Y-Cb-Cr, with uncompress 8 and 10 Betacam SMPT codec looks ok

DVCpro connected to Beta SP and then to IO true Y-Cb-Cr with uncompress 8 and 10 Betacam SMPT codec looks ok

DVCpro connected to IO true Y-Cb-Cr, with uncompress 8 and 10 Betacam SMPT codec looks pink

DVCpro connected to IO true Y-Cb-Cr, with uncompress 8 and 10 Betacam Betacam codec looks light pink

I also use the IO control panel to adjust the levels but when start FCP its ignored.

    Any clues
