June 12, 2006 at 9:51 pm in reply to: problems with after effects scrolling credits imported into avidIlistrator is vector based not raster this allows you to find the proper size for your credit roll… more eaily since it is based on geometry and not pixels … plus illistrator just handles type settings and leading and kerning more effeciantly ..
okay and as far as the expression goes…

Or … you could shoot blue screen of a person walking matte it out enter a make the wall layer and the walking matted layer 3d and pull the person forward in Z space until they pass through the Wall layer…
throwing a ambiant light layer on it will make both the layers seem to be in the same enviroment…
I guess…

you add an expression in the animate pull down menu add this to the position value it will stabalize the movement.. also … use the number keys to change position in the first place…
All I have been doing for months is making credit rolls…

A thought… .
– why not dupliate the layer then time strech one and leave the other normal.. then cut the one that is slow mow into tiny peices and hand build a slowmo track … or even through in some freze frames
it’ll look all choopy and you will be in complete control…. ( I don’t know; I had three beers at luch …pay me no mind)) -
Yeah move teh time line bar the one that shows you where in the time line you are to the point you wanna make the “cut and do the Comand SHift D command .. then do it fo the out point as well .. It will split the layer highlight the layer that is before for in point, or after for out point and then delete that layer..

If the point of intrest doesn’t move it could be that you are still focused on the screen… I don’t see why this would cause you to see through the opaque layers but try moving the POI so that the focal distance of the camera reamins constant… in other words move the POI when you move the camera focusing on the opaque layers instead of the “screen”
This may work if not… hmmm. I suppos you could sent me the project File.. and I will try figguring it out for you -
Are you adjusting your point of intrest as well as the position value?

are your black solids 3D, if not try activating the cube for them too .

we are working at a frame rate of 24 to out put to 35mm.
I have checked the key frames and they are exactly at those frames… ?
so ?I mean the expression does work now it is more of a matter of knowing what the program is thinking, or how…
