Hi all! I’m a newbie and I need help trimming for the first time. I have an mpeg that goes for 13 mins, but I only want to use a specific part of it that lasts for one minute. I’ve managed to put the mpeg in the timeline, but now I’m stuck. I’ve tried setting an in and out for the times when the frames I want to use appear but nothing happens when I hit ram preview. What am I doing wrong? I need this for an assignment (my first) and am going crazy. Cheers!

Thanks DeaditteX. Do I then do the same with the outpoint? I’m assuming that you mean by going to the point in time I point my mouse at it? Then I highlight the rest and delete? Sorry. I am completely new at this.

Yeah move teh time line bar the one that shows you where in the time line you are to the point you wanna make the “cut and do the Comand SHift D command .. then do it fo the out point as well .. It will split the layer highlight the layer that is before for in point, or after for out point and then delete that layer..
