    There are many different ways.

    Simplest way is to shoot still footage of the wall, create a mask with the portion of the wall you want the person to hide behind. Put this layer on top of the layer of footage of the person walking toward the wall. So they step behind the mask and disappear. Feathering the edge of the mask a little makes it look a little better.

    Or … you could shoot blue screen of a person walking matte it out enter a make the wall layer and the walking matted layer 3d and pull the person forward in Z space until they pass through the Wall layer…

    throwing a ambiant light layer on it will make both the layers seem to be in the same enviroment…

    I guess…
