September 27, 2012 at 6:56 pm in reply to: Shortcut to disable multiprocessing?

I got an email from him this morning, they will work on the CS6 update soon.

The script has its own UI, which is dockable to the AE interface, so I can turn MP off without having to jump to different dialog windows that alone will save me a couple seconds each time, and trust me, I switch back and forth a lot.

Anyway, as soon as it’s ready I’ll post the news here.

    Thanks Dave.

I’m on CS6, I have the same issue, both with Autosave disabled and Script access enabled.

    Thanks Dan,

I eventually fixed it by adding a Math function at the beginning, I don’t know why, but that solved the problem.

Do you know if this is a bug or it’s expected behavior? It looks very odd to me.

    Thanks again.

Does anyone know what could I be doing wrong here? I need a counter from 0 to 100 followed by a % sign.
I’ve done it in the past hundreds of times and it always worked, but today, when I add +”%” at the end of the expression I get the following error:

Invalid numeric result (divide by zero?)

However if I just type 100 +”%” the expression runs fine, obviously it’s useless since it’s not animating, but I just can’t figure out why is not working when linked to a slider control. If I just add the slider control without the % sign, it also runs ok.

I don’t know if the code was changed for CS6 or something like that.

Anyone who wants to show me what I’m doing wrong?
    Thanks

    effect("Slider Control")("Slider")+"%"

Hey Dave, thanks for taking the time to look at this.

That’s because I want to change the color of the entire text, not just some letters, but even if I highlight the letters in the way you mention, I experience the same issue, the text immediately goes back to its former color, I can make a quick screen cast of that behavior if you want to see it.

  • Have you tried creating an action including the ignore white space option directly in illustrator?

  • I’m not sure if i understood what you’re trying to do, but you can select the points (not the entire objects) that you need to align and use the align panel.

    how long is the lag?
Are you running something else besides illustrator?
Are you using a mouse or a wacom?
How many monitors do you have and in which you have illustrator if you have more than two?

They are in a separate locked layer.
Go to the layers panel and click the lock icon.

  • Hey guys, thank you both for taking the time to look at my problem.

Vinesh, I need the transparency, what I needed is to keep while also keeping an alpha channel to prevent seeing the layer in its entirety, not get rid of the multiply blending mode.

Cassius, if I turn off the collapse transformations switch I lose the relative position I need, here’s what I did in the end and solved my problem:

I turned off collapse transformations in the layer and set the blending mode to multiply, went inside the comp and set them to multiply too, sort of a double multiply thing, then I turned the collapse switch on again, so I recovered the 3d position, immediately the blending mode changed from multiply to – (you know, when you can;t change it without uncollapsing) but nonetheless the blending mode worked as I needed.

    Thanks again!
