Set matte is junk. It worked whenever it feels to, I have used it on a project across several comps and it will work with some layers but not with others, even within the same composition. It’s extremely unreliable and a waste of time.

It sort of does what’s supposed to, but not quite.
The idea is to add a blinking cursor at the end, but for it to be visible as the sentences gets written, the second slider would delay the beginning of the writing but the blinking cursor would be there from the very first frame.

With your revision I’m not getting the error anymore but the cursor is not blinking before the text begins to write.

I’ll manage with this.

I just purchased Arch-01 from here:

The installation instructions are very simple: drop the entire folder into the plugins directory, but so far I haven’t been able to load it once C4D is running. It’s just not there. I’m running R17, which according to the website is supported.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need a linear expression, like the one below.
You need to adjust it to your actual y position parameters though.

t=transform.position[1]
linear(t,832,50,0,100)

You need to specify the property or variable in the conditional for both the first and second statements (I’m not sure if those are the names of the parts of the expression), so in my example instead of

(t<=5.75 && <6.2)

it should be

(t<=5.75 && t<6.2)
