If you mean frame by frame output as the effect actually renders, I’ve never seen that option in my Adrenaline. If you mean displaying a single frame with effects as you park your playhead in the sequence, there is an option called “Render-On-The-Fly” in Trim settings. Ensure it’s checked.

The short answer is you don’t 🙂
The Avid looks to fill the raster with any image you import. It basically only lets you interpret the pixel aspect, frame ratio, color levels and alpha. Place your graphics in the appropriately sized frame before you import into Avid. If the logo has an alpha channel you can make it larger than necessary in your graphics program then resize it and move it around after you import it.

Have you tried creating a new project, then importing the bins from the old project? That’s a pretty ominous sounding error.

Based on the dealings I’ve had in the broadcast world (local cable mostly) the list you were given is somewhat non-specific. Are those MPEG-2s program or transport stream? What bit rate? What sampling rate and format for the audio? You can export MP4s straight from the timeline. But I really think you need to try to talk with the tech guy at the station (sounds like a smallish station) and nail some of the specifics I mentioned earlier.

I tested this again and it does work for me. Again, the highlights:
1-You must be in effects mode before you lasso.
2-Starting outside the timeline, drag from right to left. Every audio transition should be highlighted and then you can use the remove effect button.

For the actual backup media we’ve used Quantum LTO Drives for a year or two now. I’m always leary of storing media on drives that aren’t spinning and we don’t have that kind of space to archive the projects we do.

You probably figured this out, but it’s actually right to left lasso. Great tip Ra-ey!

At a guess “hdmp” might stand for hex dump,a type of trouble shooting file readable and understandable by coders. I would move the files to the trash and see if Avid is affected, then delete if not. You should be able to set the director Avid creates and stores temp files. I think it’s in “General” Settings.

It might help to know all the settings you used to create the QT.
But it sounds like your “effects aperture” setting in Avid is set for D1 (720×486) instead of DV. You’re not necessarily doing anything wrong. You just have to design graphics to fit the effects aperture your project is set at.

Perhaps they decided to leave them out because they don’t work properly. I’ve had problems using Avid’s codec with alpha channels since we’ve had our system. Simply put, they don’t make clean alphas…. i.e., curved sections have jagged edges when you try to use the alpha channel. I’ve used the Animation codec forever and a day for alphas. Long ago in the days we had “assurance” (cough, cough) we were told our problem had been elevated to level 2 status. That was the party line we got until the assurance money ran out. After that, we never heard any more about it.
