AutoSelect is a seriously flawed intrusion into workflow. Vote NO on AutoSlect.

You’re having operating system issues, then.
Try the usually wasteful Repair Permissions (see the Mac OS Help).
You may need to create a new user account on your machine. This often helps with obscure problems like what you are describing.BTW: I have never trashed my prefs in an OS10 application. Not ever.

Not without a third party codec or a PC. You can use MPEG1 but this is a decision that requires experimentation to determine if the quality is acceptable.
This question comes up weekly around here so search for a series of suggestions and soruces for WMP export options. We have Flip4Mac Suite ($150, I think) but there are others.bogiesan

Sorry, there’s nothing inherent in LT’s filetypes or settings that would make it unstable or unusable in iDVD. Once your FCP project is completely rendered, you can export a reference movie and drop it right into iDVD. burn. That’s all there is to it. Usually.
I cannot begin to imagine what your problems might be but there is no need to export anything more complicated than a reference movie from FCP when going to iDVD.
Sorry, wish I could tell you more.

Contact Boris, best bet. All I can tell you is that it does indeed work. Has on my machine since Red’s prototype days with Media 100 and all versions of FCP and Macintosh OS9-10.
Does Boris Red’s interconnect work on any of your other systems?

I don’t think we have any idea.
There is obviously a translation problem here, you are describing an issue in terms that do not easily relate to FCP. I would hesitate to make any suggestions based on that same translation problem.I will try anyway.
I believe the renders are being replaced in the background. Turn off background rendering. Make sure your render settings match exactly your sequence settings and your sequence settings match exactly your clip settings.

Yes, it’s relatively easy.
Read everything you can find on chromakeying. The keying software and effects software are the easy parts. It’s shooting, lighting, directing and staging for chromakey that is difficult. Without good video, getting a good key is a lot of work.bogiesan

Nice work, Scott, thorough and concise.
Strongly urge you to paste it into a sticky on your machine so you ca paste it into the forum every once and a while. The topic comes up very often around here and on every other FCP forum.bogiesan

I haven’t used FCP4 for a long time but the destination controls cannot disappear. You may not see them if they are off the bottom of the screen on, say, audio tracks 15 and 16. If your clip in the Viewer has no audio content, there are no audio destinations presented. Your other statement about bad playback is of far more interest.
I”m nut sure what CharlieX2 means by “insert tracks till you see them” but it sounds like an interesting thing to try.
You think the destination selectors are weird? Wait ill you get FCP4.5 and encounter the thrice-damned AutoSelect.
