Exporting out of FCP using MPEG2 in Compressor is not as elegant as simply going to DVDSP with a reference movie. You’ll need to explain “won’t playback on the PC” in much more explicit terms. Could be a simple need for the PC to update Quicktime. Might not even be installed. But why did he want MPEG4 if it’s going to be played on a PC? In what application?
Put MPEG4 into the help systems for FCP and for Compressor and see what the machine spits back at you.

Are you saying there is also a maximum time limit for your project?
You cannot send them uncompressed video in AVI format because it would need to be compressed to become smaller. You can only make your program shorter.
However, the terms uncompressed, AVI and FCP don’t necessarily all go together in one sentence correctly.
If your production format was DV, you’re already super-compressed.
Transcoding to AVI, even QT AVI, implies compression.Your best alternative might be to buy a small hard drive and ship that to them.

I would never approach Particle Playground for anything useful.
This effect can be done with Shatter. Shatter’s complicated but it has about 1/10th controls of PP.What was Adobe thinking?

Try using the Text filter instead of text layer. Copy and paste the filter.

We have dsr11 and dsr45 at our shop. We regulalry use 180 minute tapes in them without any trouble at all.

What they said.
it doesn’t matter how big your projection screen is, the only factor is what you’re feeding the projector. If you go with DV, there is no reason to work with anything larger than it needs to be for the maximum zoom you will perform in the timeline.When scanning, remember there are only pixels in video. DPI will only get you confused.
