I am doing some very repetitive copy and paste text work, but I have not been able to keep the AE formatting the same when I paste next text in.

I have a duplicated comp. with a background and a text layer. I simply want to change the text by copying out of a Word document into AE. When I do, it ends up as one single VERY WIDE line of text that I have to go in and add a ton of line breaks (returns) to, to make it fit my background. If I could lock down my text layer size, and have the text “flow” within it, it would save me a ton of time.

    Ideas? Thanks!

Try using the Text filter instead of text layer. Copy and paste the filter.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Check your Word document if it even contains proper LF/ CRs. Should come in with no problems. As an alternative, try to save your file as text only and Copy&Paste from Notepad or another such “dumb” text editor.
