What has been your previous experience rendering on this machine?

It’s probably going to be something very simple but subtle. About all you can do is turn off a couple of layers, one at a time, and see how that affects your performance with some test renders.

Open the manuals. Roundtripping between the CS2 or CS3 apps is more complicated than the marketing people at Adobe would have you believe.

Some of the same filters and plugins are used in both applications but not many.
Most Premiere effects must be rendered first as they have no directly translatable plugins in AE.

Suggest you visit adobe.com and search for openGL. The AE forum has several threads. It’s all geek to me but I get the impression that no one knows or admits what’s going on.

Adobe is pointing fingers at the OpenGL people and the OpenGL people are all pi$$ed off at Apple. Starting to look like one of those promising technologies that users don’t really get to use.

I’m a bit confused by your inability to apply image correction and filtration in Squeeze. The adjustments are right there. All compression/transcoding/encoding products have them.

Cleaner blows. It was once the standard against which all encoding apps were judged. Terran, Media 100, Discreet, a few other owners and now Autodesk have all let Cleaner languish while Telestream and Sorenson have blasted ahead.

Probably not but contact the maker of the enclosure.
SATA and SCSI are totally different drive interface and data systems with different power supplies and connectors and handler cards.

REducing moire is usually just a question of applying a bit of blur, say, 0.5 to 1.5 pixels. You may need both or either horizontal and vertical blur. It doesn’t take much blur to make it go away. HOWEVER, you must be absolutely certain the moire is visible in your OUTPUT format, not just on your editing display.

The problem is the frequency of the pixels in your image correspond to a mathematical operation on the pixel resolution of your format

Mr Mercury is a good suggestions but realize most AE filters offersno collision detection or rebound characteristics. Foam has a few but they’re not sophisitcated enough to create a lava lamp.

Best solution? Shoot it.

The heat-induced physics of the blobs (actually the same stuff with which you would make candles or use in home canning) is instantly identifiable as fake if created with a lowly particle generator.
