You need to determine what the finishing frame rate is. If you are finishing 29.97 (59.94) then the offline should be fine.
BUT
If you want to finsih 23.98 then you are going to have to be able to access that TC for the online.

Read this primer on how FCP open timelines work. You will notice that it works with RT enables codecs for use specifically with Final Cut Pro’s RT engine.
To think that Open Timeline means any codec, or clip on earth is just asking a bit much.

Yep Gary. I set the Kona up in Color.
If I have DV 23.98 media loaded (pulldown removed on injest) in Color and the K2 control panel set to 23.98 and the Color prefs set to 23.98 all I see is a large sync bar in the Broadcast monitor.
If I reset them both to 29.97 it is fine. This is why I thought it was a bug, because the same media playing out of FCP with the K2 set to 23.98 and the K2 Easy setup for 23.98 8 bit is fine.

Considering all of the issues I can saythis. If I select a 23.98 easy set up in FCP with 23.98 material, the material plays fine out the K2. The K2 is doing the Pulldown. If I select the same frame rate with Colr it does not play out the Kona.
I understand what’s been writen in the thread, but I wanted to mention that 23.98 playback from color does not work.

I have the same machine and COlor loads and works fine with the Graphics card installed.
You should read through the requirements carefully as it does state that all GFX cards fromt he Dual 2.5 G5’s on up will work.

Why does AJA have an NTSC 23.98 8 or ten bit choice then?
Color recognizes it as 23.98 material.
I see what you are saying. I have been shooting everything in anamorphic 24PA for a long time now. It’s not that big a deal as the KONA plays it out at 29.97 fine, BUT i get the advantages of sending the Progressive image to the DVD and also when encoding to WMV or .mov files. It;s not such a retarded way to work. IT also upconverts nicely to HD this way.

With all due respect guys there is a bit of thread jacking going on here. There are several people looking for answers to specific issues with COMPRESSOR # inthe new release of FCS 2.
You can post a new question if you want to find out how to make compressor work best on your system.
