I think it’d time for an intelligent app. There is no need, if built from the ground up, to be creating bloated apps. I’m finding a lot if the new apps very streamlined

I always thought ARRIRAW was based on wavelet compression scheme. That makes it 2.5:1 lossless compression if this is true.
For the record REDCODE raw is also a wavelet based scheme. But at 2.5:1 it would be considered lossless which is mathematically exactly the same as uncompressed.

In terms of film making I find this a way of discovering one third of what was said.

I hear you.
I guess the right click close other tabs is the best command to solve you rproblem as it will close off everything and leave only the tab you are working in open.
WHat you describe might be hard since it opens inside the timeline window.

Have you tried to mark IN and OUT on the MULTICLIP and use the select create subclip option?

As far as I know there is no tutorial on this.
Basically FCP is set up to do anything you want. First determine what you want your deliverable to be and then work backward from there.
There are codecs that are better than others.
FOR HD VIDEO a good start would be:
1920x 1080 square pixels (23.98) (29.97) depending on what your acquisition format is.
Apple Prores 422 HQYou might be best to have someone in your local community come in and set some presets for you and save yourself a lot of time and aggravation.
