Hello Todd,

Well all is well, I’ve upgraded to FCP and my OS, and touch wood all is well. My old projects open up OK……but the dreaded plug-in problem is still a pain.

Thank you so much for your reply. I really wish Apple would address the plug-in problem, but I suppose thats too much to wish for!!!

Great bit of kit!!!! I’ve been using a Logic FCP keyboard for ages now, and the build quality is as good as Apple’s…….well it would be it’s the same keyboard with colour coded key’s.
Checkout Ebay, that’s where I got mine, a lot cheaper than a dealer.
Also, if you are looking for a Shuttle I would recommend a ‘Shuttle Express’, bargain price, and it does the job.

I posted on the DVD Studio Pro forum, and I was advised to download a prog. called Patchburn…….and I’m glad to report it did the trick…..many thanks indeed.

I agree…..the cheaper option would be to buy a second camera, which not only gives you a back-up HDV camera, but also ensures you don’t wear out you main HDV camera.
With regard to quality, it depends which camera you go for as a substitute for a HDV deck.
As we all know the output from a Sony is different to the output from a Canon, or a JVC…..it all boils down to budget.
In an ideal World I would opt for a Sony HDV deck, but they are still far too expensive.

Just incase this might be an issue…..I running a dual 2.5ghz G5, not a dual 2ghz.

I agree….the whole region code situation is outdated. We should be able to buy a DVD in say Japan, and play it on a DVD player in the UK,or the US without issue.
