    Hello,

I’ve just installed a Pioneer DVR-110D DVD burner into my G5 (dual 2ghz,4gb ram, OSX 10.3.9 Pioneer firmware version 1.7).
I tried burning 7.43gb of files onto a DVD+R disc (TDK) this evening, and I got a ‘Illegal request/Runtime error’.
After I cancelled the error box the disc came out OK…..any ideas what the problem might be?
Will I get this problem when I upgrade my OX to Tiger, (this weekend)?
When I looked at my ATA devices it stated that burning was not supported on this burner….I don’t understand.
I had a look on the Pioneer website, and it stated that the DVR-110D was not intended for use in a G5. Also, I searched Apple support, but the DVR-110D was not listed.
Could someone please help me get to the bottom of this problem, I getting a bit confused!!!!

    All the best

    Hi all,

I posted on the DVD Studio Pro forum, and I was advised to download a prog. called Patchburn…….and I’m glad to report it did the trick…..many thanks indeed.
