Just out of interest are you using an other external progs to process your projects? I must admit I’ve never come across this problem/dialogue box before.
I would get out the garlic string…..just in case!!

Well, Apple still haven’t solved the JVC HD-100 24/25 fps capture problems!!
In 25fps mode I still get slow responce to the controls in the capture window, captured footage is still broken up into smaller chunks, and I still get the odd ‘lost data’ dialogue box popping up.
I 24fps mode I’m unable to capture anything….and I’m not the only one!!

  • Hello Joe,

Many thanks indeed for your responce. If the editor is using a different OS what effect with that have on his ability to complete the edit, because as far as i’m aware he is using the previous version of Tiger.

  • Many thanks indeed for your prompt responce Mark, and yes, my next question is indeed, “How will the editor relink the files?”
Also, am i right in saying that ALL of the media files will be contained within the same folder on my scratch disc? I used to use Avid, and it was really easy to find all of the media files needed for a project.
The project doesn’t contain any graphics, or Livetype media, it’s a very basic pop promo, which contains only the footage, transitions, and a few basic FCP FX.

  • Hello Shane,

Many thanks indeed for your responce. Well i’m glad to hear the small clip thing is not a fault with either the camera or FCP 5.1.2!!
I could look at this as a bonus….the fact that all of my takes come into FCP as individual clips, might make things a bit easier in the edit.

Many thanks again for your prompt responce.

  • Hello Kristian,

Many thanks indeed for your help, I can now open up my G5 without any problems……all I need now is to be able to use my Decklink HD card!!
I’ve tried using the 5.6.2 drivers, but no joy. I can see the extended desktop in the display prefs, but I’m unable to display anything on my monitor. I’m using a JVC 21″ monitor, and connecting my Decklink HD card to it via the video in BNC connectors on the back. I’ve tried both channels A+B, but still no joy.
I’m using a dual 2.5ghz G5, 2 external firewire drives, the current version of OSX 10.4, the latest version of Quicktime, and I’ve got 4gb of RAM.
If I can see my extended desktop in the display prefs window, and if all of the decklink software has been installed correctly what can I do to be able to see video on my monitor?
Any help you can give would be grately received.
I’m off to bed now….its 1.24am in the UK, and to be honest I’ve had enough stress today trying to get my card working!!

    All the best
