  • John,
I have dual monitors (hooked to PC) and a television hooked up through the Canopus ADVC110. As I was saying above the funny thing to me is that this exact same setup ran perfect on my older less powerfull PC. On my newer dual core it’s very jump. This kind of tells me that there are variables other than cpu power that are affecting this jumpy video. Mine will jump just playing imported video with nothing done to it at all (preview not set on “Best” in Vegas). It’s frustrating when you upgrade equipment and it doesn’t run as well as what your replacing it with.
With your two monitor setup are you just viewing your work in the Vegas preview window?
Any other thoughts are most welcomed.

    Thanks
    Dave P.

  • David,
I have the same EXACT problem as you do with the choppy video. It starts out playing ok then gets progressively worse. Unfortunately I have not figured out the problem. I’ve gone through all the recommended Vegas settings as far as pc setup & it helped a little, but it’s still very noticeable. Funny thing is that I have an older pc that gave me know problems at all. Hopefully someone out there may have an answer!

    Thanks

    Douglas,
What do you do to keep the computer that you use on the internet free from all the virus’s, spyware, etc.

    Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a try.
Would it be better to view on a 1080P monitor since most people (I would think) will be going this route in the future?

    Thanks

Hi Danny, thanks for your response.
I have two monitors hooked up to my computer and my external monitor (3rd monitor) is hooked up through a Canopus ADVC110. Right now that 3rd hookup is to a Sylvania LCD TV (link below)https://www.sylvaniaconsumerelectronics.com/products/lcd/LC155SC8.php
Am I on the right track going this route? Does the resolution of the LCD TV make a big difference for this?

    Thanks

May 28, 2008 at 12:20 pm in reply to: Firewire / External preview problem

    Hi Allen,
Since the ADVC110 works on the other firewire port, I would think that means that the ADVC110 is working o.k. I can try capturing video through the port that is not functioning with Vegas to see what happens. Thanks for your reply.

    Thanks
