Keylight is a great keyer but with a poor lit green screen, Ultra is far better. If your using CS3 Premium. I believe it comes with it. It can key out even the worst lit screens. Danny Hays

oh, the chromablur only makes a difference with dv color space 4.1.1 as you said.
If your backlighting your subject to reduce spill, you can get a decent key with hdv.
For excelent keys look at keylight and ultra.

Yes i believe it does. If you use a plugin that changes the color before the key, use the eye dropper to select the color your keying out after the previous plugin is added. Vegas’s chromakey is not very good though. It has no spill supresion. If your using DV footage, try putting a chromablur, set to medium before the chromakey plugin and see the huge difference with the jaggies. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

HD or HDV will give you alot better keys than DV as DV’s color space 4.1.1 is very unforgiving with chromakeying. With DV I always put a chromablur effect just before the chromakey and set it to medium. This helps tremendously with DV keying. Plus if your subject is taller than wide, rotate your camera 90 deg and make use of the more vertical lines of resolution. Danny Hays

The green screen is the easiest way in my opinion. If your using CS3 After Effects, then try the Keylight plugin for the chromakey. It’s pretty easy to use and can give you a fantastic key, No haziness. Otherwise if the subject moves, you will need to rotoscope out every frame. Very time consuming. Danny Hays

Another way is to cut some blue paper in the shape of the glasses lenses and tape them over the lenses. then Use the Keylight plugin to key out the blue and let the unlying track show through, dropping the opacity of the refection track and shrinking it down as thats what the reflection of the bow in the lens would do. The reason I say blue is the maniquin is already in front of a green screen right?

It sounds like you need a batch converter which I don’t believe Vegas does. If you r trying to just convert the format of many files, Google “Free video batch converter” and several show up.

I may have missed something but if you want the same effect on every clip, why not put the effect in the track effect chain instead of the event effect chain? Danny Hays
