At our church, we use a Tricaster to run the broadcast.
I’m trying to make video overlay of something interesting like our pastors name, our logo spinning.

I’m needing to try and make a video that i can overlay over other screens. Transparent Background rather. Im not sure i understand, transparency and such with video.

I’ve got my animation ready to be exported/rendered out, How do i render it where it has no background?

    Any help would be appreciated.

(right now, i’m running these videos, with a green screen background, that im keying out in the tricaster, but im getting some haziness in the mix. I would rather do it a simpler way, so i don’t have to use the Chroma Key)

    Thanks.

you need to render out using the render queue with an alpha channel. You will need to use a codec that supports alpha channels like the Animation codec.

If you don’t understand what an alpha channel is, or what the Animation Codec is … then do a google search, COW search, AE help search and I’m sure you will learn quickly …

Then feel free to ask any more specific questions … good luck!

The green screen is the easiest way in my opinion. If your using CS3 After Effects, then try the Keylight plugin for the chromakey. It’s pretty easy to use and can give you a fantastic key, No haziness. Otherwise if the subject moves, you will need to rotoscope out every frame. Very time consuming. Danny Hays
