Are you guys manually white balancing your cameras before you record? If a camera is set to auto white balance and sees a lot of a particular color, like green tablecloths, the camera will compensate and can make that green not look right. My first video camera didn’t have a manual white balance capability and I was getting into chroma keying so I painted a wall in one of the rooms of my old house green. When I video taped me in front of it the green color was probably 75% of the screen and in my video, the green wall look almost gray with a hint of green to it. When I do a multiple camera shoot, I make sure all the cameras are manually white balance at the shoot to a white posterboard. Sometimes it’s not appropriate to be able to put a white posterboard there and I have actually used someone’s white shirt to white balance several cameras. I don’t doubt that even with manual white balancing, the colors may vary from different camera models. I normally use Panasonic TM 700s as they give me a pristine picture for the money.

Glad I could help. Showing a screen shot like you did makes it easier for us to find the problem.

When you add your first clip into a project, timeline, Vegas will ask you if you want to match the project settings to match media. click yes. Then make your render settings match the media. The original bit-rate is (10mb/s) so setting it higher can’t get what isn’t there. What does the original video look like? Try this render setting.
30p isn’t a preset, but you can type 30 in manually.

It wouldn’t have taken two hours to render then. My instinct says it’s a custom render setting.

August 4, 2015 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Audio sync problems during preview playback AND upon renderingSounds like you need to move the audio track about 5 seconds to the right. Set your preview to preview auto so you can see the timing better. Did the audio track come with a video track? If it did and it’s out of sync with the video it came with, You can select both those tracks, hit the “U” key and then you can move one without the other. You need to get everything in sync in Vegas before you render.

Have you tried setting your preview settings to Preview, auto? My GoPro makes mp4 4k files and Vegas Pro 13 on an I7 laptop can play them pretty smooth with no effects, at best, auto. If I add effects, I set it to Preview auto and it’s totally usable. Where are your 4k files coming from? It seems Vegas has a hard time with your 4k type. You can always make low res proxies to edit with, then replace them with the original 4k files right before rendering.

Not all mp4s are the same. If it worked before capturing with your new card, Use the method that worked. You can download mediainfo here. https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/
It will allow you to see the difference in the before vids and new card captured vids.Danny Hays
