I gather you mean a single sided disc, 4.7 gig on a standard single layer disc. I don’t have a conversion chart but most likely John R. or DSE does. You can jump over to the compression technics forum and Daniel Low posts that all the time. Danny Hays

You can add a compressor in the master channel effects bin. I allways do that to avoid clipping, but only set it to compress the clipping peaks and not compressing during normal dialog. Two compressors compressing at the same time can be cofusing to adjust if you don’t like the sound. Danny Hays

So it let you enter your serial number right? Does the effects window show up now?

Looks like you need a reinstall. Uninstall and delete the Sony Vegas folder, then reinstall. Danny Hays

It may be the burning app your using. Since it’s a data disc, try right clicking on the video in windows explorer an selecting send to CD-rom. Windows will burn it to disc. Let me know if this helps, Danny Hays

Have you tried setting your project settings to NTSC DV Widescreen?

Hi, You may be rendering a looped section thats a half second. Be sure to select the whole project, or deselect “render looped region only” in the render window. I think that’s an old video you got the settings from, Vegas 5? You Tube has changed. You can upload HD now, or have your SD played in high quality. The file upload size 1 gig instead of 100m. You Tube is going to re-incode anything you send them so if your DV AVI is under a gig, why hit it with an unnesseary compression hit? If it’s over a gig, I get good results with the “Sony AVC(*.mp4,*.m2ts,*.avc) type with the default template, video tab, frame size, set to what your video is, set the bit rate to 4,000,000, 4kbps since you tube i think is less than that. Hi John, i was hoping you could help me. I’m looking for the best way to deinterlace 1080i footage from my HVR-A1. I’ve tried setting my project settings to progressive, fields to blend, render to pregressive. Is there a better way? I’ve seen an After Effects post where someone made a png file where one field was black and the other field was transparent, used it to mask one field, so a duplicate track underneath with its field order reversed would give you a progressive frame, something like that. Also a post from DSE saying duplicate a track and move one event one half a frame and rendering to 60P. This level of digital video is still beyond me a little at least. Got any ideas that may help? I was hoping you could help me. I saw a post on another forum where someone was trying to deinterlace 1080i to 1080P 24F for better slow motion and you said something along the lines of, duplicate the track, move one one a half frame ahead and render to 60P. I think I kinda get what you mean, half a frame to deinterlace but I can’t seem to get to work. I have a Sony HVR-A1 1080i, I’ve set my project settings to Progressive and fields to blend, render to progressive to deinterlace but I’m hoping your method will give me better results, plus 60p would allow for better slow motion too. Thanks for any advise you can give on deinterlacing. Danny Hays
