Use the track motion and keyframes for both tracks. First add a keyframe in the trackmotion of both tracks at the same point in time where one is small in the corner like you said you have done, then put the curser further down the timeline in both track motion windows,(make sure their the same time as each other) then resize each to give you the split screen look you want. this will automaticlly add keyframes. You can also move the keyframes if the transition is to fast or not fast enough. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

You can try to key out the black, Vegas keyer might not be able to pull it off but Ultra Key might. If you don’t have access to Ultra, you can post one of the videos on Vimeo and for non premium Vimeo members, they allow the original file to be downloaded for a week I think. That’s one way around the ten meg limit for most eamil services. I can see if Ultra can do it for you. Danny Hays

If that’s not the case and only one video is doing this, you can sync them back up very easy with snap feature, select both and hit the “G” key to re-group them. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

If your not using Finalcut or some Mac based software, why spend all that money for one, add Bootcamp and run Windows software? especcialy when an i7 PC setup with a good NVidea card, a few hard drives, even USB 3,(Mac shows no signs of supporting it as well as no 1080 60p video file support), could cost you 1/3 the price. I have 7 PCs and one MAC, that recently died. I can’t see any reason replacing it. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Your project settings 720 x 480 is standard def 4 x 3 aspect ratio. The render settings you show are
16 x 9. What are your video files resolution and aspect ratio? Try setting your project settings and render settings to that. Hope this helps, Danny Hays -
Please do your homework before buying the motherboard if you’re getting the Shuttle. It needs an X58 or P55 chipset and a fast enough USB 3 port. Asus P6X58D-Premium or -E both work. Danny Hays

I would copy all media and the .veg file to another drive, restore your computer to an earlier date, open the .veg. Since the media will have a different path, it should ask to search form media. I’d let it find it clip by clip until it does or doesn’t crash. That last file added that makes it crash need to be deleted and relpaced.

I have the Shuttle and it uses the same software Media Express. I haven’t seen that option. Also The intensity pro and Shuttle capture MJPEG and 8 and 10 uncomp. AVI. Tape is DV or HDV. I believe you would have to convert to the format your deck is made for. Why do you want it on tape anyways? DVD storage and hard drives are so cheap now. You can find 2 terabyte drives for about 100 bucks.

Nope. Can you go back to the pre-rendered and make your color changes there?

Not if you didn’t stop the camera between takes. If you did and it’s still capturing as one lpng clip, go to your capture preferences and enable scene detection. This will make a new clip everytime you stopped the camear during capture.
If this isn’t the case, you can put the curser where you want to split the long clip, and hit the s key, then each smaller clip will have an Effect icon where you can color grade each one seperatly. Danny Hays
