Why don’t you clap loudly once at the start of each recording, then use the audio wave to sync? the spike the clap will make will be very easy to see. You can evelope out the clap sound after. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

That’s not the version of Media Express your using is it? I have the Shuttle, works great but I don’t have that version of video capture.

Sounds like Vegas doesn’t like a mov file or effect at that percentage through the render. I would remove clips and effects about that far through the timeline untill it renders through.

I’m sorry, I mean not any better as far as preview framerate. The contrast was better than the secondary DVI from my NVidea card, but no change in framerate. I’m a little dissapointed the GPU support of pro 10 doesn’t help with preview, only renders. John, if you looking into a new i7 and a BM device, The Intensity Shuttle is the same price as the Intensity Pro card, at $189.99 but it has more capture settings and a nice interface box instead of pigtails from the card. The biggest problem I’ve seen with the Shuttle is people have a hard time getting it to work. Blackmagic is very specific on the MB chipset and USB 3 bandwidth it needs to run. I have the Asus P6X58D-Premium. The Shuttle needs an X58 or P55 chipset and a high bandwidth USB 3 port and my Asus board works great with it. BUT,, in order to improve on your capture quality, you will need to capture straight from the imager as once it’s on tape, it’s HDV. The Shuttle will capture 1080 60i Motion Jpeg AVI with color space 4.2.2, noticably better than HDV from my A1. Also it captures uncompressed 8 and 10 bit avi, with a suitable raid array. And having all the outputs live all the time is really nice too. Composite, s video, component 1080i and HDMI 1080i, all usable along with a dual head NVidea card. That’s six video outs at the same time. Unfortunatly Vegas doesn’t give you the MJPEG option when capturing with Vegas. Pro 9c lets me capture 1080i mxf at 50 mbs where pro 10 does not?? I just use the supplied Media Express software and then import to Vegas. For people that capture to tape, it makes a nice multi out device but for people that capture in a studio and don’t have to use tape can get alot more out of it. Danny Hays

Marlen, If your going to use Vegas for chromakeying, Be aware you will need alot of good lighting, especcialy back lighting to eliminate spill. There is no spill suppressor in the Sony chromakey pluggin. Danny Hays

I used my Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle for an output and the preview rate was now any better. Danny

If it happens when capturing with Premiere, It’ll probably happen with any capture app. Try capturing with Vegas and if it still does it, Can you do a system restore to before when you installed any other codecs? Have you tried capturing with another computer? This will determine wheather the problem is in the camera or computer. Most cameras have a reset to original configuration button, hidded somewhere.

Straight from the camera, no tape, with OnLocation has always worked for me.
