sony vegas 10 alpha channel
Posted by Robert Given on December 18, 2010 at 7:14 pmI bought some stock fire & flame footage with black background . They are .mov files . Is there any way to add an alpha channel to these files ? I’d like to bring them into Vegas , open properties , select alpha & have the black background be gone.

December 18, 2010 at 9:21 pmYou can try to key out the black, Vegas keyer might not be able to pull it off but Ultra Key might. If you don’t have access to Ultra, you can post one of the videos on Vimeo and for non premium Vimeo members, they allow the original file to be downloaded for a week I think. That’s one way around the ten meg limit for most eamil services. I can see if Ultra can do it for you. Danny Hays

December 18, 2010 at 10:03 pmI can key it out in Vegas with fair results . I was hoping there was a way to convert (add an alpha channel) the original mov file . Then when I bring it into the project & r click the file , choose properties & select straight in the alpha channel drop down.
