It’s also a great feeling to say Reel One Finished and Locked!

As Resolve was designed in a DI environment originally the best way to break it down to avoid the memory issues your seeing is to break it down into a project per Reel or 20min chunk.
I’ve been working this way on all feature films I’ve worked on regardless of software and I find clients have no problems at all working this way.
I hope this helps but please do send me a mail at davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com and i’ll do my best to help you further!
Thanks,
Dan

Hey Guys,
The older style panels are only compatible with Resolve Linux and I think its only the 2k panels and above that are compatible but i’ll need to check with Peter or Rohit on that for you.

If you could send me a detailed step by step to davincihelp I’d be more than happy to look into and replicate it for you.
Thanks,

Have you used any LUTS on those clips?
If you have used any luts that may have gone missing since or been deleted can cause your grades to shift.
May be a long shot but it happened to me before so it’s worth checking!
Hope this helps,

Hey Kevin,
If you right click on the clip thumbnails you’ll see use sizing fom XML. You can toggle that on and off.
I hope this helps!

I’d definitely start with Red Color 2 and RedLog Film. That will give you a nice flat image to start with.
A lot of shots have a very natural 16mm film look that hasn’t been pushed too far or at least looks that way to my eyes.
Import a still as a reference and see if you can eye match the characteristics is probably the best way forward!

Hey Carl,
Your issues are being caused by the database issue rather than the GPU error. Its caused by the database not being installed fully. We normally remove the database and re install to fix.
Can you contact davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com. They should be able to assist you quickly and easily.
Thanks!
