Kona card is in slot 2 I have a matrox hd compress card in slot 3 and fibre raid card in 4. I monitor the video out of the kona sdi to the panasonic monitor and the audio through the analog outs of the kona into a mackie mixer

I’ve had the problem using both dvcprohd and xdcam codecs I’m using the internal drives for scratch disks, 3 1 terabyte stripped together and my xserve raid.

stuttering stills was another issue(boris fx) that i hope is solved

I use my dvcpro 1200 deck and a kona LHi to upconvert dvcam all the time, works great.

I can get boris to crash FCS 3 consistently. I am making assemble edits to tape. Each tape is a copy of the same timeline. I finish a tape and replace it with a fresh tape and try to drag the timeline to the assemble icon and FC crashes telling me that Boris NRTAII was the likely cause.

I’m also having crashes with the Boris continuum plug-in & FCS3. I have used the uprez filter in a couple of spots, applied to the brick generator and maybe the scan line filter.

September 14, 2009 at 7:23 pm in reply to: JVC ProHD Problems

I was having the problem of Final Cut ver 6.5 not recognizing my new (used) JVC HD250 using the firewire connector for tape shot 720p 24. After much dinking around I found a working combination. It is the Apple pro-res HDV codec (all 3 of them work) and HDV firewire NDF for the source.

Are there other filters I’m missing by not using an Intel?

June 5, 2009 at 2:51 am in reply to: To Jan Crittenden: HVX-200 Green Screen Halo Problem

I just did a green screen project where they shot with 2 different cameras. Both were using the widescreen dvcPRO50 codec. The first camera was a hvx200 and the second was an sdx900. The hvx exhibited the pixelated edging seen in the barbie png early on in this thread. There was no issue with the sdx900. The hvx was transferred from p2 cards and converted to quicktime movies and i was keying in final cut using Boris Continuum Complete. The problem looked worse on my Panasonic 1700 LCD monitor than it did on my Sony 13″ CRT.

great idea, won’t help me now. What i need is a little cottage industry chip replacement service for blown Panasonic 1200a firewire cards. Anybody know of some guy with a solder gun and experience with this problem?
