FCS 3 I have a project with a sequence called rough 8 mix. There should be a rough 8 and a rough 8 mix and indeed there are 2 sequences, one with the mixed down tracks one without. But they have the same name. When I try to rename 1 the name changes on both. When i delete one it does indeed disappear but when i try to reference a clip in the remaining sequence rather than going to the source tape it reopens the deleted copy.

FCP 7.0 had some weird sequence naming bug which sounded similar to this.
    The update supposedly fixed it.

Can you create a new empty sequence then cut and paste the contents into it and name it properly ?

Nope. If i do that it changes the name back to rough 8 mix and I then have 3 copies of the same sequence

We have been having similar problems with 7.0.1 – its definitely a bug. sequences renaming themselves and at other times all the clips in a sequence renaming themselves as the name of the sequence instead of the clip. some say that having any freeze frames in the sequence can trigger it, but having to delete all freezes is no way to work.

I’ll double check with the guy doing most of the work with the sequence but to my knowledge there are no freeze frames in the sequence
