Hi,
In Quicktime Player, go to Edit > Preferences > Quicktime Preferences. In the advanced tab turn on “Enable encoding using legacy codecs”.
That should sort you out.

Hi Rosa,
Nope, no curves in FCP. There are in Color, if you really want them.
Otherwise, I’d concentrate on learning the 3-way Color Corrector, as that’s the most useful colour correction filter FCP has for general correction IMHO.
Is there a particular thing you’re trying to do? Or are you (sensibly) just looking for a comfortable analogue to a tool you’re familiar with?

It’s there in case someone wants to step up to the plate to create and integrate a motion tracker into After Effects. To my knowledge, no-one’s done that yet.
As you’re probably aware, there are several dedicated motion tracker applications that export data to be used in After Effects. But none that will pop up in that dropdown list, so don’t sweat it.

Adobe provides a tool to clean installs off your machine, handily called CS3 Clean.
It will blast *all* Adobe applications though, so watch out if you also have any other Adobe programs installed. It will also get rid of your previous authorisations. If you failed to deauthorise your programs before uninstalling, this may cause problems when you try to reinstall again.
You may have to make that call to Adobe support anyways. :o)

If you have Boris Red, you need to start out by creating a 3D Model Container.
Now drag your layers in to the model container and position/rotate them how you want. Once you’ve done that, you can set up lighting and camera movement insde the 3D Container layer. Animate to your heart’s content!

Use the arrow tool and double-click the ellipse mask. It will go into “Transform” mode, so you can then easily scale it, reposition it, etc

Motion blur in the normal scheme of things cannot be animated and usually you wouldn’t want to. The parameters are safely tucked away in the composition settings.
What you can do is to use other filters to either replace or beef up the effect that you’re going for. It could be a simple Directional or Radial Blur or a slow but effective CC Force Motion Blur. It all depends on the effect that you want, and the direction the object is travelling in.

Unless you want a ghost-type effect (use a blend mode), a rough mask around the character should be sufficient. Depending on your shot, a simple crop might be sufficient.

Find the preference file & drag it to the Trash!
You can find your prefs by going to HD > User > USERNAME > Library > Preferences > Final Cut Pro User Data.
Or, take a look at FCP Rescue that will let you save a known good copy of your prefs and restore them with two clicks.
