Exporting an EDL may be what you want to start with.

Select the shortest line and kern that to the longest line length. Can look a bit strange if the line lengths are too disparate but otherwise works well.
Looks real nice for big graphics also.

millions+ means the clip has an alpha channel and therefore does not require a green screen (chroma key). No reason why it would not work in Prem 7 (1.5) or 2.0

It is possible to “expand” the text (kern & lead) in PremPro but not to animate it.

I can not see any reason why the render time would be any longer than to be expected. (Plug-ins need to render also)

You need to make a mask from the key. (Mask Only) . Place it on a separate layer and then apply a 3D Transform effect to it. (Might be easier in AE)

There is a keyboard shortcut (un allocated by default) for this function.

The Matrox site clearly said it would not work until the new drivers are released for 2.0. They originaly were saying this month for release. Who will be the guinea pig I wonder ?

How do the other NLEs know which clip to select from the CTI position in the case of multiple video tracks where clips may overlap?

In PremPro you put a “Marker” on a clip or the timeline using the asterisk key from the Number Keypad.
In and out points use the short cut keys “I” and “O” respectively
