The cda file comes from a CD. If you have Audition and the original CD you will be able to Extract the same track from the CD.
I am unaware of a converter that will take the cda file and make it a .wav but that is not to say that one doesnot exist.

…anyway the blip tone on a countdown leader is only one frame long and I know that my cuss words are at least 27 frames. If I string a few together I reckon I could get to at least 100 frames on a bad day.
Make blip in Audition and as Steven says – make a blur / mosaic in PremPro.

I do not think it necessarily so that V1 & A1, V2 & A2 etc are linked. Reason being that you can create extra tracks and therefore end up with many more V tracks than A tracks or vice versa and of course you may need Mono or Stereo tracks also.
Trick is to set target track if you are trying to keep timeline organised and tidy but if you can cope, it doesnt really matter as long as you can find your clips. (helps if they stay linked of course)

Recompress when checked will add additional compression to the clip as it exports.

A number of ways and most are fundamental to NL editing. Some depends where you are “getting” the new clip from. eg ,. Source Window or Project Window.
Heres a couple of ways:
Drag a new clip into a timeline position using a modifier key – in this case “CTRL”
You can insert your clip using Insert Command or Insert Keys or Insert shortcuts eg “,”
Note that inserting usually requires that you set the track as the “Target”

40 minutes for 1 minute of source is far too long and there is a problem somewhere. I would expect that to be about a 3-5 minute process.
I always out put an avi submaster before encoding.Saves time and allows me to check each stage of the process.
BTW: Faster mpeg encoding is achieveable with the standalone MainConcept Encoder. I use this sometimes – especially if I need to Batch encode some avis. It can also batch encode multiple avis into one MPEG stream. This can be very useful.

I was hoping they fixed the reference Tone level to -20dB in PremPro 2 (or made it attenuable even). Anyone know if this was done ?
