I don’t think so. According to the release notes this bug was addressed in the 4.5a update.

I also waited a while for other venders to bring out 64bit versions of software that I was using.
Vegas Pro 8 is running smoothly on 64bit XP. Hyper threading is also being utilized by Vegas Pro 8 which speeds up production time. I’m almost certain that Vegas Pro 8 is not a 64 bit application however it runs pretty smoothly on a 64 bit system.

In Vegas I select external monitor and it works 100%.
In DVD-A I select “Options” – Preview on external monitor.
I click on the “Video Device” tab. I only get “OHCI……” option.I am not using them at the same time.
1st monitor is a 37″ LCD BenQ flat monitor, the secondary monitor is an LG 19″ wide LCD.Cheers Craig

I have updated DVD-A to 4.5b and still my EXT preview device is’nt working. I only have 1 option in the drop down box on the option tab – “OHCI compliant IEEE 1394/DV”
It works fine in Sony Vegas pro 8.
Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks for the updates on both Sony Vegas pro 8 and DVD A.
I noticed on the download page that there is a “Vegas Pro update 1.0b”.
What is this? Do I need it as well.

Thanks Alan for new emitters.
It must be challenging for you to come up with new ideas for new emitters every month. Why don

Oops! You extracted them to the wrong folder. Try \program files\particleillusion 3.0\emitter libraries
You should have about 1800 emitters.

I had a problem with other apps not running on WinXP 64 bit so I waited until they released the relevant service packs. I am now running everything on Win XP 64 bit and its all working fine. Vegas Pro 8 runs fine in 64 bit mode.
However be aware some plugins may not be recognized automatially in SV pro 8. Eg. Boris red works in 64 bit mode but you will have to copy the relevant files manually to the plugin folder in SV pro 8. There is a post in here somewhere that explains it very nicely.

I had similar errors when I upgraded fron Vegas 6 to 8. My errors were from the “Media Generated” media. I went into Vegas 6 and removed them, saved and quit. Opened them up in Vegas 8. Bit of a schlep but it was the only way.
